The Story

My brother-in-law Danny has Multiple Myeloma. This is a cancer of plasma cells, a type of white blood cell normally responsible for producing antibodies. In multiple myeloma, collections of abnormal plasma cells accumulate in the bone marrow, where they interfere with the production of normal blood cells.

Here I will keep people up to date when I am caregiving. Also see www.dadzupdate.blogspot.com for more information on Danny's progress. Tiffany

Back Home for Danny

Picture taken just before he started his shots to get the stem cells all stirred up!
Danny returned home this morning. The collection of his stem cells was finally completed on Friday. He told the Pherasis nurses before they begun on that third day if they did not get enough stem cells to complete the 5million he was done.

Went down to his house this afternoon to see what I could help with; he had already done his laundry. Very happy to be home, in a wonderful mood. I cleaned out refrigerator for him and washed the dishes from that task. His feet hurt. I tried to rub his feet to aid in circulation but they are so very, very tender and sore, so I went very gently. His trouble with his "pic line" was resolved by a stitch.

Took some of my homemade clam chowder and then took half sweet potato that I just cooked down to Danny for his supper. It is an unlikely combination but any kind of good food that may appeal to him is my goal.
